In 2018, David E. Kelley wrote a spec script for a television series set up at Epix by A&E Studios. When the script failed to move forward, he decided to work on a different project with A&E, ultimately adapting The Lincoln Lawyer after sharing his interests in working on admitido dramas. Without giving away too many spoilers for "The Law of Innocence," the story does include a number of new characters that are likely to show up in Season 4. This includes a team of FBI agents who are investigating a mobster named Luis Opparizio.
